You probably don't move a few dozen times every day, but Master Movers Co does. We can give you a few tips from our rich treasure trove of experience:

_ If you are moving with children, pack their belongings in special children's boxes. Having their own boxes is more fun for the kids and helps them to accept the move.

_ It is best to leave small children with relatives or friends on the day of the move.

_ Explore your new environment with the children in advance. Show them the new way to school, scout out the neighbourhood playgrounds and find the best ice cream stand.

_ And speaking of ice cream, you don't need to empty your refrigerator and freezer before moving. Our moving trucks have a 110 volt outlet inside. So nothing spoils during the trip.

_ It is best to move your feathered, furry or scaled friends yourself.

_ No one likes to trust others with jewelry, cash and valuables. We recommend transporting these items yourself.

_ The less that must be transported, the better. Get rid of anything you no longer need. Take advantage of flea markets and classified ads. Think about your basement and attic.

_ It is best to make new purchases after moving. Then you have a better idea of what you need and what will work best. Take advantage of the opportunity to start fresh!

_ In bad weather, we recommend covering the floor to avoid damaging carpet and wood floors from the constant traffic in and out of your home. We can provide you with the appropriate materials.

_ As soon as the moving date is set, it is best to take care of the small details yourself. Be sure to notify the post office, public utilities, television/radio authority, bank, insurance, clubs, mail-order companies, newspaper/magazines ...

_ Don't lose sight of your old home, even when you're concentrating on your new one. Make sure you fulfill all the requirements in your rental agreement before turning over your apartment. Perhaps you are leaving something in the apartment you would like to be compensated for.

_ If you choose to pack yourself, start early. Go ahead and pack whatever you no longer need. And if you devise an organizational system for packing and write detailed descriptions on the boxes, you won't have to do any guesswork when unpacking.

_ Choose appropriate packaging materials. Don't forget to pad the inside of your boxes and don't pack them too full. Any box can tear at any time. Place heavy items at the bottom of the box. Packing similar items together will save a lot of search time in your new home.
